CASPer Tutor

The CASPer test is a situational judgement test (SJT). It's a type of psychological test in which you'll be presented with realistic hypothetical scenarios and asked what you'd do in each one—and why. According to Altus Assessments Inc., the maker of the CASPer test, these tests are used to "determine behavioral tendencies, assessing how an individual will behave in a specific situation, and knowledge instruction, which evaluates the effectiveness of possible responses." What does this have to do with you? In practice, this behavioral interview will be similar to what you may encounter during your medical school interviews, specifically the MMI style of interviewing.

The CASPer test takes between 90-110 minutes. This time includes an introduction and two optional breaks (one of 10 minutes and one of 5 minutes). The test is comprised two sections; a video response section and a typed response section. There are 14 scenarios in total.

It is important to practice answering questions within a given time frame and understand how the scoring system works in order to gain maximum points on each question. As this test does not involve learning content knowledge as such and focuses more on technique, it is important to work with an expert tutor who will be able to provide you with detailed feedback on how to improve.

It is entirely up to you how many hours you reserve, but we recommend 20-40 hours of CASPer preparation. However, there is no requirement to do so! No matter how much preparation you want to do, our tutors will make sure you're covered!
